Din M Sumon RahmanDirector and Founding Editor Professor of Journalism and Media Studies at ULAB and director of the Office of Faculty Research and the Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies (CQS). Dr. Rahman has an immense interest on the cultural politics and cultural economy of Bangladesh media and information literacy. Dr. Rahman’s academic background is in Philosophy, Development Studies and South Asian Studies, with a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Queensland, Australia. Nafees MansoorTechnical Editor Dr. Nafees Mansoor is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering at ULAB with a Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He advises the FactWatch team on the technical maintenance of platforms as well as the use of technology in fact-checking. Dr. Mansoor has more than 10 years of experience both in academia and industry. He has published at least 60 research articles in various reputed journals and Int’l conferences. Rahul RoySystem Analyst Rahul Roy has been working in the capacity of a System Analyst at the Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies, ULAB since November 2021. He completed his BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from ULAB. His responsibilities revolve around web development, cybersecurity and research work. Apon DasFact-checker Apon Das works as a Research Assistant at the Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He completed his BSS from the Department of Media and Journalism, ULAB. He loves to read and write. His several articles and video reports have been published in various news media. His area of research interest is Media Representation and the human behavioural characteristics in the virtual world.

Jahirul IslamFact-checker Though Jahirul Islam is a Mechanical Engineer by profession, he has a special interest in Mystery solving and Fact-checking. In the 2021 Ekushey book fair, his first book “Meemangshito rohosso” (Solved Mysteries) was published. In academic life, he studied in BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) & University of Dhaka. He has a strong voice in Bangla online world against superstition, rumour & fake news.

Nasrin JabinResearch Associate Nasrin Jabin works as a Research Associate at the Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies, ULAB. Writing research articles and reports along with Fact-checking is her core responsibility. She completed her BSS and MSS from the department of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Dhaka. She has been awarded the ‘Peace Gold Medal 2017’, ‘Deans Award of Meritorious Excellence’ and the ‘Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Merit Scholarship’ for securing 1st places in both BSS and MSS. She has published a couple of Journal articles, three articles in International Magazines, 9 articles as Book Chapters (internationally), 4 Reports, and 3 Newspaper articles. She also presented paper and delivered lectures in 6 International Conferences. Her areas of interest are international politics, development studies and human rights.
